TSC Promotion Letters For Successfull Teachers Released to County Offices
Following recent promotions, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has rolled out a two-tiered approach to notifying over 100,000 primary and post-primary school teachers who underwent interviews last year.
The first batch of letters, dispatched to 36,505 successful candidates, confirms their elevation following interviews conducted between December 2023 and January 2024. These letters are currently being disseminated to TSC county offices for collection.

The second set of letters is designated for teachers who participated in the interviews but did not secure promotion. Termed as regret letters, these serve as formal acknowledgment of their candidacy for future promotional opportunities. These letters, albeit disappointing, are crucial documents that underscore the teacher’s aspiration for career advancement.
For teachers fortunate enough to receive promotion letters, the journey towards formalizing their elevation requires the submission of five key documents outlined in Chapter 6 guidelines. These documents serve as prerequisites for processing and facilitating the commencement of their new roles.
Among these requirements is the indispensable Certificate of Good Conduct, issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). Ensuring the authenticity of this document is vital, as it validates the teacher’s suitability for their new position. However, acquiring this certification entails a nominal fee of Ksh1,050.

Additionally, successful candidates must obtain an official Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Clearance Certificate, which currently commands a fee of sh. 2,200. This certification is instrumental in assessing the candidate’s financial integrity and reliability, further reinforcing their eligibility for promotion.
It is imperative for teachers whose names grace the promotion list to diligently fulfill these document requirements, as failure to do so may impede their posting and delay the commencement of their new roles.
Moreover, it is advised to exercise discretion regarding the dissemination of regret letters, as undue exposure may inadvertently affect future promotional prospects.
In essence, the issuance of these letters signifies a significant milestone in the professional journey of educators, marking their transition to higher roles within the education sector. By adhering to the stipulated document requirements and embracing the opportunities presented, teachers can embark on a new chapter of growth and development in their careers.
