To decide who gets promoted, the TSC has set up interviews scheduled from December 4th to 15th, 2023. They’re looking at various factors like experience, qualifications, and performance.
The Commission had earlier announced 36,275 promotion opportunities for teachers from job groups C1 to D5 in August, attracting a record-breaking 150,000 shortlisted teachers—the highest number ever.

For teachers eyeing this promotion, having experience as senior teachers, presenting supporting letters, or upgrading qualifications from PTE certificates to diplomas or degrees increases their chances.
The Commission’s score sheet weighs interview marks, considering aspects like TPAD and KCPE performance in the assessment.

Successful candidates will need to adhere to Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution on ‘Leadership and Integrity.’ This involves presenting documents like a valid Certificate of Good Conduct, clearance certificates from the Higher Education Loans Board, Kenya Revenue Authority, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and an approved Credit Reference Bureau.
